This blog was created in support of the candidates' forum for the November, 2009 McCall City elections. Specifically, the blog provides a page for each candidate to share his or her platform, for questions to be asked by the community of all candidates or of a specific candidate, and for candidates to respond on the blog (or at the forum). The McCall Decision 2009 Steering Committee, co-chaired by the McCall Chamber of Commerce and The Star-News, was created to produce the forum, obtain platforms from the candidates and direct the blog's management. The Steering Committee is structured to allow for more local organizations to participate in future. The direct web address to this blog is: http://mccallelections.wordpress.com The domain name above was chosen just for simplicity, and was used for 2 separate blogs supporting both local elections in 2009. The concept is to create a template that can be easily adapted to future forums and elections. We believe that this supports improved community education, engagement and commitment to local governance.
